What your app includes
On this page
Start with a working foundation for a web application. OwlMeans Platform provides the common services most apps need, so your description can concentrate on users and their work.

| Included foundation | What you use it for |
|---|---|
| IAM and authentication | Let people sign in and manage their accounts. |
| Authorization | Decide which users can view or change each resource. |
| PostgreSQL | Store durable records such as projects and tasks. |
| Valkey | Support fast shared state and background work where the app needs it. |
| Multiple organization entities | Give customer organizations separate membership and access. |
| Layered application structure | Keep screens, business behavior, access checks and storage consistent as features grow. |
| OwlMeans Common building blocks | Reuse forms, services, configuration and access patterns. |
| Skills and project memory | Help another coding agent understand the app and continue development. |
PostgreSQL is a database: it keeps the records your app must remember after a restart. Valkey is an in-memory data store: it helps with work that benefits from fast access. You do not need to install either to use a hosted preview.
Use the foundation
- Describe who will use your app and what each person may do.
- Include the records you need to keep and any customer organization boundaries.
- Review those requirements in the proposed specification before accepting it.
- Develop a user story, then try both the permitted and forbidden actions with test users.
- Use the configuration guide for external services and the permissions guide for access changes.
The included foundation is available when creating an app. Some operating capabilities, such as production publishing, independent production sign-in, custom domains and delegated inference, depend on your plan.
Application example
Category: Project and task management. Example: Task Grove, a task board for a small team.
